Beautifully presented two storey self catering accommodation

Constructed of traditional Cornish stone and slate, the ground floor of Owl Barn was originally home to the farm cattle with the hay stored above. Retaining its farmyard charm, this delightful family cottage provides beautifully presented “upside down” accommodation.

Two spacious yet cosy bedrooms

Owl Barn is entered via a stable door from a step created by an old granite cider press wheel! On the ground floor there is a reception hall with a coat rack, cupboard and really useful tray for your boots and shoes. There is a large double bedroom and a twin bedded room, each with pedestal wash hand basin, and a separate bathroom with full size bath and shower over, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.

Stunning opened beamed ceiling and magical views

A wooden balustrade safely encloses the staircase up to the large and fully open plan living area with its stunningly high open-beamed ceiling. With digital colour television with DVD player, the comfortable lounge enjoys the wonderful views from triple aspect windows, and in the feature fireplace is a wonderfully warming log burner, ideal if you’re visiting during the chillier times of year.

The fully fitted farmhouse kitchen-diner has an inset four-ring cooking hob with oven beneath, microwave, tall fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and more cupboards and drawers that you really need! There is plenty of room to cook around the dining table.

Enclosed garden adjoining the farmland – child and pet friendly

A stable door leads from the kitchen to a sheltered patio area and garden adjoining the open farmland with a big wooden bench seat. Watch the farm animals from the dining table, or eat al fresco – but don’t leave your meal unattended as this area is also one of the farm cats’ favourite spots for sunning themselves! This area is safely fenced and therefore ideal for very young children or dogs – but keep the gate closed as it’s not been unknown to find a cow or two asleep in there next morning!

Parking is available directly outside Owl Barn for up to two vehicles. We have plenty of places to store your roof boxes or bicycles under cover too during your stay.
