We actively promote and encourage a real appreciation of our environment at Higher Trevinnick:
 All the farm’s water is pumped by water wheel from our own natural spring at the bottom of the valley, certificated and approved for consumption by South West Water.Our recycling system includes collecting bottles, cans, plastic and waste paper in clearly marked receptacles and guests are encouraged to use this facility.We appreciate the educational aspect of interactive farm holidays for visiting children and foster an appreciation of countryside and conservation issues, lifecycles and animal care – so rewarding when they write some months later to tell us they have used their farm holiday experience as the basis of a school project!Wherever possible we use and recycle traditional Cornish materials on the farm – even the pigsty and dog’s kennel have a Delabole slate roof!Both cottages are well insulated and fully double glazed to minimise heat loss.We use low energy bulbs throughout the cottages and in all outdoor lights on a timer to ensure adequate lighting late into the evening.We farm in a small yet environmentally conscious way with recent concentration on tree planting and hedgerow conservation bearing results with a proliferation of wild flowers and wildlife.The contents of our cottage welcome packs are all sourced locally and we guide our guests to attractions and eating establishments where we know they’ll receive a real taste of Cornwall.
